How to Reduce Pollution Using a Robotic Lawn Mower

By Kerry Clabaugh Even if you are not an environmentalist, the price of gas will definitely make you a conservationist. Gas prices continue to climb. Personally, going to the gas station with my little red gas can is not a trip of leisure, it has always been a chore. It is common knowledge that gas powered lawn mowers are serious environmental polluters. It is estimated that 1 hour of lawn mower use equals driving an SUV 100 miles. I have read that lawnmowers contribute up to 5% of the nations pollution. Even more alarming comparisons and statistics can be found on the internet. Fertilizers and weed killers are contaminating our rivers and streams. Herbicides that run off yards in Minnesota affect the Mississippi Delta just as much as those used in Arkansas. We worry about terrorists attacking our water supply as we cumulatively lay down the spring and fall weed-and-feed. Even as more cities are putting on water restrictions, lawn sprinkler companies are hard pressed to keep up with demand. During the driest times one only has to drive a few blocks in the early morning to get a free car wash. Even in a pouring rain sprinklers systems are going full tilt. So what can we do to keep our yards looking nice without doing harm to the environment? Robotic lawn mowers are one answer. Robotic lawn mowers can mow on a schedule and return to the charging base by them selves all season long without human intervention. This has two benefits, the most obvious is more time to do other things. The second is the less time people spend doing yard work the less money they are going to spend on their yards. Translation: fewer herbicides and pesticides equals less underground water contaminates. By allowing the grass to get too high and then cutting it too low causes thatch. Thatch is that long dead cut grass that smothers the roots and prevents the morning dew from reaching the tender roots on top, it also acts like a blanket in the hot sun. By allowing the robotic lawnmowers to cut frequently only the very tips of the grass are cut. Since the clippings are very small they break down very rapidly and become a natural fertilizer. This means the need for less water and less application fertilizer, yet a much lusher and greener yard. Robotic lawn mowers run on batteries, they burn no gas or oil. It is estimated that it costs only $7.00 a year in electricity to mow all season long. That is quite a savings! Due to higher quality components robotic lawn mowers built today have a life expectancy of about 10 years, the same as a quality riding lawn mower. In summary, robotic lawn mowers emit no pollution, are fully autonomous, and will dramatically reduce the need for watering and fertilizers while making your yard even more green and beautiful. Save the planet and save the sweat. Kerry Clabaugh runs http://www.bamabots.com, a website dedicated to robotic lawnmowers sales and education. Kerry is also interested in your experiences with robotic lawnmowers. Decorative Metal Work Techniques From The Early 1900s

By Colin Croucher Today's Metal Craft workers should truly appreciate the artistic skills & techniques used exclusively by the highly skilled metal artisans from almost one hundred years ago. Decorative metalworking is undergoing a new renaissance as more &
more people become involved in hobby metal craft. The skilful use of simple metal craft hand tools, allows the worker to create fine metal work items. The casual onlooker of the magnificent ornamental metalwork's found on many historic public buildings in the USA, United Kingdom, Canada & many other countries, would hardly realize the many painstaking weeks or months of work involved in creating these elaborate metal works. Every day, thousands of people walk straight past the beautifully
crafted iron work, & decorative iron arches in public buildings &
gardens, and not give them a second glance. But the new age metal-craft worker of today would stop and admire
& appreciate the design & craftsmanship skills required to create
these superb handmade iron & metal-works of yesteryear. It is
a learning experience. Examples of old bent iron design work can also be used as inspiration for ideas to incorporate into new items made for today's lifestyle which any skilled metal worker of today could reproduce, things such as: garden structures, outdoor garden furniture, household utensils, or high quality items could be produced to sell to customers who are willing to pay the price
for custom made iron & metalwork items. But first, the metal craft worker needs to re-learn the special old time metal working skills used create these beautiful metal works Most of this knowledge has been preserved for anyone who wants to
become involved in artistic metal work. An ebook has just been republished which explains in full, the correct way to go about designing genuine reproduction bent ironwork, this ebook will show the novice or advanced metal worker the design concepts, and
how to transfer drawings into real life full size objects. Ironworkers over a century ago did not have arc welders to join their creations together, instead, they used special methods to bind the intricate metal work together, many of which are still in good repair today, even after one hundred years, such was their skill. Metal work skills also combined the art of chemical etching of intricate designs onto copper and brass, & special methods of colouring or creating patinas on all kinds of metals for different unique effects. Sheet metal cross strips and borders were also used for outdoor garden tables and chairs, this exacting skill is explained and described in detail so that the home hobby metal worker can reproduce them. The special skills explained in the ebook will enable the artistic metal worker to recreate ornamental iron works just like the metal craft masters did over a century ago. Seven Common Marketing Problems Solved by Marketing Operations

By Gary Katz Corporate marketing groups - especially bandwidth-challenged small-to-mid-sized departments - can be so focused on tactics and fire fighting that they jeopardize their marketing investment. There is a tendency to overreact to events, to tackle symptoms rather than underlying fundamental problems and to jump at the opportunity to please the boss. Many times, this kind of tactical knee jerking may be fatal. Without great marketing, companies won't flourish, especially those in highly
competitive markets. Yet the chaotic nature of emerging or dynamic growth
companies and the tendency to place the marketing burden on too few individuals is
a setup for failure. Promising companies may be left in the dust, or at least
handicapped at the starting gate. Marketing Operations is emerging as an important discipline for improving
performance and measuring ROI in admired technology companies (like Intel, IBM
and Amazon) who have refined and fine-tuned their marketing organization with an
operational focus. Given the demands that these organizations face today, an
innovative approach is central to solving critical issues like results measurement,
bandwidth constraints and creativity limitations, and building value-added
outsourced supplier relationships and effectively managing budget. Many of the
best practices, efficient processes and systems approach from large company
Marketing Operations can and should be applied by emerging companies that are
serious about their marketing investment. Here's why: PROBLEM #1 Ill-defined metrics Today, more than ever, corporate marketing departments need to justify their
existence. The need to measure results is unavoidable. However, the instincts and
skills that make an outbound marketing practitioner great-action-orientation,
verbal and written acuity, persuasiveness, the ability to build strong relationships-
often don't translate into an ability or willingness to scientifically and objectively
evaluate success. Add in broken systems and the organization's unwillingness to
pay for marketing evaluation, and it's no surprise that many marketing departments
are unable to define meaningful success metrics. SOLUTION Marketing Operations ensures that the right processes are in place to establish
meaningful metrics at the front-end of marketing process, enabling the
measurement of success at key intervals, and as each program concludes. PROBLEM #2 Slammed resources The prevailing attitude of "doing more with less" can leave key people discouraged,
overwhelmed, near burnout, and eventually, circulating their
resumes. The consequences for organizations are costly mistakes, high turnover,
and collapsed programs when key people leave, and missed opportunities to
leverage the "ugly-stepsister-Cinderella-in-waiting" programs that never get off the
ground because of a lack of ownership. SOLUTION Marketing Operations addresses these resource limitations by ensuring workload is
effectively allocated, roles are clearly defined, interdependencies are understood,
team members feel satisfied with their jobs and the programs and additional
resources, whether through additional headcount or outsourcing, can be
successfully justified to executive management. PROBLEM #3 Sketchy institutional memory Marketing is dependent on accurate information, a historical view into past
successes and failures, and the ability to recognize patterns that link seemingly
unrelated data points. Unfortunately, knowledge in many marketing organizations is
scattered all over the company. It's in the heads of individual workers, on shelves,
on people's hard drives, in long forgotten filing systems. When people leave, a big
piece of organizational knowledge goes with them. Information loss is a huge
productivity killer for marketing teams. Lost insight that must be regained or
reacquired wastes previous marketing investments. SOLUTION Marketing Operations facilitates knowledge sharing, an enduring repository of
information and greater decision-making based on fact, as opposed to hunch. PROBLEM #4 Constrained creativity The best creativity comes from many brains working together in collaboration. A
consequence of the age of the "individual contributor" director is constrained
creativity. When the entire creative burden falls mostly on one outbound marketing
person, the ability to think out of the box can be severely impacted. Creative
synergy results from many minds thinking as one. SOLUTION Marketing Operations enables the creative process to benefit from the synergy of
team. PROBLEM #5 Failed supplier relationships Most successful companies can point to strong, long-term marketing supplier
relationships as integral to their success. Likewise, a pattern of failed supplier
relationships is often an indicator of marketing department failure, rather than poor
vendor performance. Unfortunately, companies that have had consistently bad
relationships with outsource suppliers often react by seizing control and bringing
everything in house. While this strategy may provides the illusion of control, it lets
marketing managers deflect blame for failures, rather than teaching them how to
manage their outsource suppliers by taking responsibility for the results. In
addition, this strategy won't scale with the growth of the organization. SOLUTION Marketing Operations helps set realistic expectations and mutual accountability
between suppliers and the organization, increasing the effectiveness of outsource
partners by empowering them to act as an extension of the internal team. PROBLEM #6 Lost discretionary budgets Use it or lose it. Misuse it and lose it anyway. Many corporate marketing
departments are leaving discretionary budget on the table or allocating it to
the wrong initiatives. This discretionary marketing budget "Catch 22" occurs
because: It's very time consuming to manage the budget effectively, especially in companies
with broken financial systems Each marketing spend-decision creates more work for the one-person or small-
team
marketing department in terms of project management, measurement, supplier
management, etc. Doubt persists about the ability to successfully justify the expenditure to
management Focus is instinctively on high-visibility marketing activities and C-level executive
"requests" over fiscal management (marketing people are more inclined toward
marketing than finance) SOLUTION Marketing Operations facilitates implementing the system support infrastructure
and financial management discipline needed to protect precious marketing budgets. PROBLEM #7 Narrow marketing mix Many companies align their fate with the success of too few marketing programs.
Whether it's lead generation, public relations, trade shows or advertising, the over-
reliance on any one particular program can derail a company-especially if a key
program unexpectedly loses momentum. In the meantime, programs that could
have had strong leverage never get a chance to prove their mettle and are forever
relegated to the "B" list. SOLUTION Marketing Operations puts the means in place to launch potentially high-value
marketing programs that would never otherwise get out of the starting gate. The Bottom Line In a nutshell, Marketing Operations is an organization's best bet to: Ensure that success can be measured and replicated
Leverage systems and processes to enable consistently excellent performance Encourage great marketing departments to stay together Allow the marketing organization to flourish, despite the unexpected, but often
inevitable, loss of a key employee. Gary M. Katz, APR, is president and CEO of CommPros Group, a Santa-Clara, Calif.-
based firm that provides marketing operations services to help companies leverage
their marketing investment, plus a variety of outsourced marketing program
management services to support lean marketing departments. Gary is a veteran with

How To Plan A Stress Free Bridal Shower

By Gregg Hall If you are the person planning the bridal shower you may be feeling stressed but there is no need. This can be one of the most exciting things you have ever done and you will be part of bringing joy to the bride as well as the guests who are more than happy to attend and bring a gift for her. Here are some tips to help make the planning less stressful. When you are planning a bridal shower one of the most important things to consider is how many people to invite. The optimal number should be from five to twenty, any more than that will just be too much to deal with for the bride and will take away from something that should be cozy and intimate. Talk to the bride and see who she wants at the top of her list. The first people on the list will be family members from both sides of the wedding party, as well as the bride's closest friends. Make absolutely sure that anyone invited to the bridal shower also gets a wedding invitation. Next you want to choose the bridal shower invitations. This is a totally subjective thing, the invitations can be themed or look any way that you and the bride decide. If you are going to have a bridal shower on the beach then it would be really cool to have invitations to reflect that kind of attitude. If your bridal shower is going to be just kind of generic with no particular theme then consider matching the bridal shower invitations up to the wedding invitations. Just like wedding invitations you will want to have an RSVP deadline and the theme if any. Be sure to include the name of the guest of honor and the hostess' name and contact information, plus the location of the event. Send them out about a month ahead of the shower. Now that you are done with the invitations you need to begin the planning for the shower itself. As far as food is concerned you should begin with appetizers, nothing too heavy then try to include a wide variety to give the guests a lot of choices. The best practice is to try to stay clear of foods that people may be allergic to, such as peanuts, as some people have deadly reactions to them. Include a good choice of beverages too including fruit juices and water. Make sure that when you are planning games, opening of gifts, and other events for the shower that you also plan for time to allow the guests to announce themselves and how they are connected to the bride this will help to bring everyone together. Wabi-Sabi Savvy

By Maddy Cranley Just when we have all learned to correctly pronounce Feng Shui, the Chinese art of appropriate placement of objects in our living spaces, along comes another ancient Oriental aesthetic philosophy, "wabi-sabi". Seemingly destined to become as popular as Feng Shui, wabi-sabi addresses our relationship to all things that surround us, not just to their positioning in our living and working environments. Plainly stated, the basic tenets of wabi-sabi are simple is best, less is more. Leonard Koren in his book "Wabi-Sabi: for Artists, Designers, Poets and Philosophers (Stonebridge Press, 1995) describes it as a beauty " of things imperfect, impermanent and incomplete, modest and humble and of things unconventional." It is actually a difficult concept to describe. Once it is defined, thereby giving it a form, it loses the essence which makes it what it is. Wabi-sabi began in 14th century Japan as a reaction to the rich materials, brilliant colors and lavish ornamentation displayed by the Chinese culture. Today the popularity of wabi-sabi could be viewed as a response to our high tech world in which exactness and duplicaton are so prized that designer logos are worn front and center on clothing to identify it as being a perfect match to all others produced by that same designer. Something so exact and mass-produced is definitely not wabi-sabi. Natural and crafted objects are wabi-sabi because they so often display an individuality that cannot be duplicated. A handknit sweater would definitely qualify as wabi-sabi. Yes, many knitters may knit the same sweater from the exact same pattern instructions, even using an identical yarn, but each resulting sweater will likely have subtle differences. An individual knitter's tension, which can sometimes vary from day to day, will certainly vary from knitter to knitter. Slubs and bumps even in the same brand of yarn will appear in different places in the garment and differences in needle-holding technique can sometimes be evident in the twist of the finished knitting. This is wabi-sabi. In contrast, a mass-produced knit sweater, created with the same computer-controlled machinery will guarantee that all the sweaters will look exactly alike - definitely not wabi-sabi. Wabi-sabi also prizes the dented and scratched, the bumpy and irregular, the weathered and worn. Perfection is sterile. Imperfection is beautiful. So here's a different way to look at those dropped stitches that were recovered onto the needle, with that ever so slight a twist of the yarn, or at the variance in a dye lot that results in a line across your back that only you can see. It is these imperfections that give the sweater its unique beauty. The concept of wabi-sabi embraces the passage of time. The slightly felted but dearly loved old woollen sweater that you cannot part with and the knitted teddy bear, torn and ragged from a child's love, all embody wabi-sabi. These characteristics suggest that the object has a history. No brand name or high price tag could change what these objects mean to the owner. It's value is gauged on a very personal and private level. So take pride in your wabi-sabi knitting. Be proud of that noticeable slub in the yarn, the slightly stretchy neckline or the twisted picked-up stitch. You have seen a simple strand of yarn develop into a unique garment, one that stands alone and unmatched, but best of all prized by you - that's wabi-sabi. Auto Financing with Bad Credit

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Garry_Chaples]Garry Chaples Are you one of the many people who have credit problems? Bad credit is more common than you think! The good news is, more and more lenders are now targeting consumers with bad credit! Even if you have bad credit, you can still qualify for an auto loan...and it's become easier and less humiliating now due to the wonders of the internet! You can apply online, and not have to put up with the unneeded stress of trying to get financed through the dealership! Here's how to buy a vehicle if you have bad credit... Set up financing before even stepping onto the car lot! You can get "pre-approvals" from many online lenders. This way you know when you walk onto the first car lot exactly how much you can spend, and how much your monthly payments will be! The lenders will approve you for the loan, and mail you a voucher that you give to the dealership once you work the deal on the car you want. You simply fill in the amount borrowed (up to your pre-approved limit,) sign, send your signed contract into the lender, and you're done! In order to qualify for a bad credit car loan, lenders look at some specific things. They will want to see if you have sufficient income to cover your current bills, the loan payment you are about to commit to, as well as the costs of maintaining and insuring your new vehicle. Most lenders also prefer that you've held your current job for about a year, and that you've had a consistent home address. It sounds a bit simplistic, but don't take on any more of a car payment than you can afford! Use this opportunity to rebuild your credit...make your payments on time, and when your credit situation improves, you can get your loan refinanced at a lower interest rate. Like with any other buying situation, it is best to compare rates among different lenders. Be careful not to apply at too many places though, as too many credit inquiries will have a negative effect on your credit score. Should you need any recommendations, please go to http://bad-credit-lenders.net Good Luck to you in that new car! Garry Chaples is the owner of http://bad-credit-lenders.net and

Fishing Creeks

By Michael Kilby The first question is Why fish creeks? every one has small lakes, rivers, and large lakes near their home. If your area is like mine the small ponds are highly pressured and the only way to fish the larger lakes is to use a boat. Yes, I have a boat but not everyone does. The other problem is I may only have an hour or two to fish, is it worth it to put the boat in an out of the water I dont believe so. The benefits I see of fishing the creeks are I can fish for as little time as 30 minutes or all day if I have the time. The deepest part of the creeks I fish is just 8 feet and if youre wading you can always walk around the deeper holes. Bank fishing is always an option especially in early spring before the weeds and brush grows too thick to get to all the good spots. When the water warms up just an old pair of gym shoes and a pair of shorts will do the job. If you wish to purchase waders I would suggest chest waders. When I use hip waders I always find areas I would like to go but the hip wader always seem to be a little to short for where I what to go. In the little creeks by the house I have landed Large Mouth Bass, Small Mouth Bass, Rock Bass, Bluegill, Crappie, Cats, Saugeye and by accident a turtle. Tackle is simple a medium light rod or ultra light if you prefer, a small reel I like one that will hold 80 yards of 6 lb test line. I have used 4 lb test line and had no problems landing fish but it is more likely to break if you get hung up on a rock or bush. Using 6 lb test line the hooks I use will straighten before I break the line. I have to give a plug here for Yo-Zuri hybrid fishing line because it is simply awesome. I have found for best results which means to catch the most fish is to down size your hooks and bait. I use 16th oz jigs and 1 to 2 inch grubs. If you like using in line spinners use 16th oz. I take 4 twister tail worms and pinch off about an inch and use a size 1 or 2 offset worm hook. When fishing the creek I use a small waist tackle pouch with three pockets to carry all the tackle I need. My tackle is in the truck at all times incase the opportunity presents itself to fish a while. The jigs, small spinners, small top water poppers work well in fast running water even just a couple feet deep. I have better luck in deeper water with the twister tail worms and small tubes. Small crank baits work well also if the water is clear. Dont miss the opportunity to have great day fishing at your nearby creek. How To have a Fabulous and Memorable Prom Night

By Patricia Kopp Prom is a night for graduating seniors to celebrate their twelve plus years of school. It is one of the last few times that your class will get together and have a good time. It is a time when you realize that you are leaving high school behind and are growing up and becoming a young adult. It is a time for graduating seniors to make a great memory and here are some ideas to have a fabulous and memorable prom night: 1. Create a prom scrapbook. Fill a binder with mementos such as the price tag from your dress, your corsage, your ticket stubs anything that has to do with prom night. Then decorate the outside of the scrapbook with a collage of your favorite prom pictures. Theme the scrapbook with the same theme as your prom. 2. Be organized with your prom planning. Have a checklist of everything you need to get done for prom including your dress, activities before and after and who you are going with. Also, plan your pre-dance dinner if needed well ahead of time. Prom night is a popular night for local restaurants, so reserve a table for you and your date at least a month prior to the event. 3. Be sure to rest before the big night. Having fun on prom night will use up a lot of energy. You will be stressed from all the preparations and with all the dancing you will be doing, you need to make sure that you get a good nights sleep before prom and maybe even take a nap the day of prom. If you talked your parents into extending curfew on prom night, you will need all the sleep you can get beforehand. Believe me you will have more fun if you are not dead tired. 4. Most students find the prom a lot more fun if they go in a group. Couples can share a car, and several cars can go together and arrive at the dance at the same time. Or super size your prom ride by renting a minibus. Pass around a list and recruit your group. A ride this size costs less than a limo does per person. You will all arrive together and you can all sit together at the same table and enjoy each other's company all evening. Remember that the earlier you arrive, the better your chances will be of finding an empty table where you can all sit together. 5. You may want to get together at one person's house to take group pictures and have hors d'oeuvres. Throw kind of a pre-prom mocktail party with virgin drinks. This gives everyone an opportunity to get a good start on the evening. It will also give parents a chance to make a fuss over all of you and take as many pictures as they want. They will probably be having as much fun as you are. 6. Buy a bunch of one time use cameras and pass them around to your friends. Set a goal to use every last picture before the night is through. Hopefully, you will want to remember this night forever and this way you will get plenty of candid shots. 7. Dance away the night. Dont be a wall flower on prom night. Get up and dance! If you dont want to slow dance with your prom date, dont let that stop you from having fun. Pull your friends onto the floor and dance in a circle. 8. Sometimes students don't spend much time at the dance, but just show up for pictures and leave. These are the ones that really miss out on the fun. This may be the last time you will be seeing a lot of the people you have spent the last four years of high school with. It may be the biggest party you will ever attend where you know so many people in attendance. Enjoy it and have a great time! You'll remember it when you look back years later, and it will be a good memory. 9. Take care of your belongings. Don't leave valuables on the table or in bathrooms. Even if you think you know everyone at the dance, it would be very sad to lose a camera or your money just because you were careless and left it sitting around unattended. 10. After prom is over, be playful and have fun. Some suggestions: After prom, go bowling or to a late-night arcade. Theres nothing like friendly competition to really get everyone laughing. Or go to a late night diner all dressed up and order fries and a milk shake; itll hit the spot and youll get lots of attention. You can even gather in a friends house or backyard or on the beach, take your shoes off, turn up the music and really dance. Even the most ordinary things become more fun when youre dressed up! Youre only in high school once. You might as well enjoy your night and make it last as long as you can. Prom is a wonderful way to celebrate with your class but please dont make choices on prom night that you will regret later. Dont drink or use drugs as both impair your judgment, can hurt you and are illegal. You want this to be a night you can remember in a good way not a bad one. Article by Patricia Kopp.

Planning Your Outdoor Wedding Reception

By Randy Wilson An outdoor wedding reception can be host to an almost unlimited number of guests and has the aura of nature that can never be duplicated in an indoor ballroom. Some of the following outdoor wedding reception ideas should help to get you started with planning this special day, including avoiding some of the dangers involved with an outdoor setting. One of the great advantages of outdoor wedding receptions is the cost. If you have your own suitable parcel of land, you can save thousands of dollars over the rental of a reception hall. Even renting someone else's private land for the event is generally cheaper than a ballroom. Hosting an outdoor wedding reception at a public park is not recommended because public parks are just that: public. It can be difficult to control who will and will not end up wandering around eating the hors d'oeuvres. There is plenty of private acreage for rent just about anywhere, quite suitable for a large outdoor wedding reception. This allows you more managed access to the event. A great thing about the outdoors is that you can have games and entertainment that wouldn't be possible indoors. Outdoor games such as horseshoes and croquet are always a hit and can help to keep the younger guests occupied and out of trouble. The one thing you simply can't control is the weather. Outdoor wedding receptions are always at risk of being caught up in a storm. Plan for rain, hope for rain, even pray for rain! This way, the worst streak of bad luck will result in a beautiful, sunny day. Set up plenty of sheltered space to ensure adequate coverage from the elements. Even if the weather stays clear, large canopy tents provide your guests with some relief from the sun. Even when the sky is beautiful, any open space is subject to being hit by gusts of wind. Assume that anything able to blow around, will. Some things to keep in mind are tablecloths, napkins, disposable cups and plates, centerpieces, seating arrangement cards, and SCENTS from trash cans, neighboring pig farms, etc. Supply bug spray and sunblock for your less-prepared guests. Perhaps a small booth off to one corner of the lot could be dedicated to this task. Citronella candles around the perimeter can also be quite effective in this regard. Distribute a large number of trash receptacles throughout the outdoor wedding reception area. Guests are more likely to pick up a fluttering plate or napkin when they are near a place to discard it. You will also want hire an attendent whose sole job is to patrol the site and keep things stocked up and litter-free. Copyright Randy Wilson, All Rights Reserved. UFO: How I Met Xrytspet

By John T Jones, Ph.D. Years ago I tried to write a science fiction novel. I wrote seven chapters and went brain dead. The novel was called The Glass Pool. There actually was a glass pool. I went out into the desert a couple of weeks ago to make sure I had seen the thing when I was a kid while out hunting Jack Rabbits. The walked through the sagebrush to where the greasewood was high. I busted through it and found the pool. The glas pool was filled with tumbleweeds and there was a dead coyote in the bottom. He had slid down into the thing and starved to death. Thats when I heard this noise like the shaking of a Mexican castanet. I jumped back. Then I jumped again when I realized I had almost jumped right on top of a six-foot (1.84615 meters) rattlesnake! The next thing that startled me was a voice that said, Xen yftlc yuggi fonn ledscrit. I turned to see a 4-foot (1.230769 meters) woman. She said, Sorry, wrong language module. My name is Xrytspet. She had lovely green hair that strangely went well with her metallic blue dress. Her voice was soft and sweet until she said, What are you doing out here besides scaring the heck out of that rattlesnake? I wondered if she was dangerous with that strange pistol-looking thing hanging from her neck. I said, What is that? She smiled and said back in her sweetest voice, How rude of me. Would you like a Phendroop? Before I could say Jack Sprat Eat No Fat she had dropped a Phendroop from her Phendroop dispenser into my hand. I didnt know if the Phendrooop was poisoned or not, but I had to take the chance. I plopped it into my mouth. She had a serious look on her face now. She said, Most creatures dont eat Phendroops. They rub them on their tummy. Sometimes we eat at one of your hamburger joints and the Phendroops help us to get rid of all that fat before it can clog our lynroorps. I felt a strange rumbling that started in my stomach and then oscillated violently down into my intestines. I rushed off to the far parts of the desert. I yelled, "Wait for me! Ill be right back! When I got back to the glass pool, the little woman was gone. I didnt know her, but somehow I missed her yellow eyes and those cute little fur boots she wore. I knew that nobody would believe my story when I got back home. My wife would say, I hope you found what you wanted out in that godforsaken place. Head down, I walked back to my old blue pickup. When I got in the cab, to my surprise, there she was. What took you so long? she said. I said, Who are you and what do you want from me? She smiled, I just got here from Fanton in G10009845788899990766. Why? I said. I have a special assignment from the Supreme Central Amalgamated Galaxy and Planet Literary Team. The what? You were writing about us when you lived in Iowa. You know, your novel The Glass Pole I corrected her, The Glass Pool Whatever! Silzrack was your technical source. He caught your chickenpox and we had to zap him back home before he died. Thats when you went brain dead. We call it Writers block. She shook her heads sideways, They sent me and I just got here. I assume that Silzrack just got to Fanton. I hope he is okay, I said. Chickenpox can be deadly to adult humans. Oh, he is okay. No problem there. He was frozen stiff as a block of Antarctic ice. No changes could take place in his body while he traveled. I just thawed out myself yesterday." "Just yesterday?" I asked. "I was never so glad to feel the radiation from your earth star." She shivered. I put my FnL7 Time Craft in the back of your pickup. I hope you dont mind. I looked through the back window. There was no Fnl7 Time Craft! I tuned to her and instead there was my wife who said, What took you so long? I hope you found what you wanted out in that godforsaken place. CopyrightJohn T. Jones, Ph.D. 2005 John T. Migraines and the Migraine Syndrome

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=J._Wes_Tanner,_MD] J. Wes Tanner, MD I feel tired. There I go yawning again. Why did I come into the bedroom anyway? I wish I could find that box of chocolates I stashed away. My neck sure is stiff today. That spot on my head is hurting again. It always starts hurting when I get one of those sick headaches! Oh, maybe its happening again! I can feel the throbbing pulsation on the side of my head and in my sinuses. I need to turn off that noisy radio and lie down. I believe I will draw the shades first. This room smells musty. Maybe thats whats nauseating me. I cannot think right now, so I might as well go to sleep. Oh my, my head is killing me. This patient has a common migraine headache. If presented with aura (usually visual disturbance or tingling of the skin prior to the headache), then this would be a classic migraine headache. A migraineur, a person who has a history of having migraines, may have variations on the presentation of headaches or other symptoms. Some headaches will not follow this pattern. This person falls into the [http://www.migrainesyndrome.net] migraine syndrome profile. Let me explain what I mean by the migraine syndrome. It is the outward expression of the bodys sensitivity to light, sound, smell, food, and/or stress. Some people are more sensitive than others; therefore, their reactions to different stimuli are greater. This sensitivity can be manifested in the body as migraines, sinus headaches, neck aches, palpitations, irritable bowel syndrome, motion sickness or vertigo, reactive hypoglycemia, temporomandibular joint syndrome (TMJ), panic attacks, and/or fibromyalgia. Now thats a mouthful! Understanding what is going on with you is very important in the healing process. J. Wes Tanner, MD, is a family practice and headache specialist who has been treating people for over 30 years. He has extensive experience in treating migraines and fibromyalgia with excellent success. In Doctor, Why Do I Feel This Way?, Dr. Tanner exposes the secrets and myths about fibromyalgia and the migraine syndrome. A Memory Technique To Help You Succeed on Exams

By Maria Markella The memory technique discussed in this article could help you improve your grades when writing exams. The technique is designed to empower the revision capabilities of an individual (aka you). So keep reading. When writing exams you need to recall large amount of information right on time. It is possible to overuse your brain during the process so here's a technique to help you succeed. What you need to do is create what I like to call an "Information Cloud". What is an Information Cloud? For every particular subject/chapter/book you study you need to create a list of important points. This will be your info-map. This list can be enhanced and grow in size as time goes by and you study even more. When studying for exams you usually need to read something twice or even more in order to understand and absorb the information. So when reading for the first time you can create a basic list outlining the most important things. By nature your brain will be ready to absorb more information easier the second time you read the information. Enhance your list and keep adding information to it. Make sure you take notes about all possible information contained in what you read so that it is available to you through the Information Cloud later. After finishing your list you can create labels for every significant point and rewrite the list in an ascending/descending order placing the most important information on top of your list. It's better to have a numbered list because otherwise you may forget a label on a line. By writing numbers next to the labels your brain automatically associates the number with the specific label thus, you have better chances of remembering every information contained in your cloud. After you're finished with all the writing it's time to create an image of your information cloud in your mind. Try to visualize the image of the paper in your mind. Imagine it full of information you've written with your hands. Imagine recalling all information from the cloud easily and effectively. Recalling information from the cloud can then be as easy as running through a mnemonic in your mind. At the end you will be ready to dominate every subject. Always keep your Information Cloud handy and look at it often to keep the image in your mind alive and kicking. So you are curious about memory improvement/enhancement techniques? Here's is Mr Amazing's memory guide that will help you to master your memory and improve your memory skills. Dr. Amazing is a world class mentalist. Bank Employee Incentives vs. Mr. Public Consumer

By Debbie Hagan Banks rank their divisions, branches and employees as with every industry. Which branch is profiting. Which are losing? Which sell the most products/services? Which ones have the biggest increases/declines in each week, month, quarter, annually, etc. Its broken down by state, city, branch and even employee. Yes, many banks pay bonuses or commissions on services/products your teller cross-sells to you at your bank. If they hear you are going on a trip, they are rewarded when you purchase your travelers checks. Credit card applications can pay $30 to an employee. Refer a large depositor to purchase a CD and another $50. Many banks use the SIIM program provided by BVSinc.com. This software boasts it can increase fee income and offers employee/customer interaction tracking to assist in employee incentive programs. Clark Consulting offers something similar. Harte-Hanks applied its Allink Daily Deposit Builder which comes with a package of 80 pre-built business rules based on customer activity to the data at Fifth Third Bank. By analyzing what customers did weeks (and sometimes months) before they closed their accounts, Fifth Third was able to teach the program to recognize potential defection behavior, often 60 days in advance. Daily Deposit Builder also allowed Fifth Third to identify customers prime for additional products. Its opportunity program focuses on selling to those customers who appear likely to become more profitable, based on either demographics or increased account activity. says writer Richard Levey of Direct Magazine. His interview with Andrew Rosen, vice president and deposit product manager of Fifth Third Bancorp in Cincinnati, Ohio can be found at http://www.directmag.com/mag/marketing_sos_yields/. Fifth Third Bank measures teller performance on an individual basis. But the Cincinnati-based bank pays a set commission for each product or service sold. For example, a successful mortgage application reaps the referring teller $30, and a customer credit card application pays $25, said Bob Slaven, Fifth Third vice president and northeast Indiana retail regional manager stated in the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette written by Sherry Slater. Full time tellers are expected to accrue at least $150 in commissions each month. Part-time tellers have a $75 goal. They start each month with a clean slate. "It's very attainable," Slaven said. Fifth Third employees, who receive bonuses on a quarterly basis, are paid the amount they earn, even if it falls below the performance standard. And there's no cap on the upper end. Some tellers earn more than $1,000 a month merely from commissions, Slaven said. In March 2003, Fifth Third Bancorp reached an agreement with the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland and the Ohio Division of Financial Institutions to change its internal accounting practices. In November 2002, regulators began reviewing Fifth Third that forced the company to take $54 million charge in the third quarter of FY 2002. The regulatory oversight ended in March 2004. What about overdraft protection services? Are bank employees rewarded for each Overdraft Protection application customers fill out? What about the much talked about courtesy bounce protection programs? Are branch managers rewarded for increased fee income? Who is auditing Fee Income at our nations banks? Ten Steps To An Ideal Relationship

By Nick Arrizza, M.D. These are ten tings you can do to create the ideal relationship. 1. Do your own personal emotional work first. It is necessary for each individual to become aware of and release the negative unconsciously stored self sabotaging relationship patterns they acquired during their childhoods. Unfortunately most individuals never do this and only find out about them after a failed relationship or an acrimonious divorce. 2. Nurture your own self esteem, self confidence and self worth. Too many individuals neglect themselves and thus wind up feeling very needy. This neediness then lures them into the unconscious belief that a relationship will help fill such needs. This is a recipe for disaster as it sets up unstable and often abusive co-dependent relationships that lead no where. 3. Nurture Self Awareness. It is only through self awareness that you will be able to achieve mastery over your own thoughts, emotions, perceptions and behaviors. Anything less means that you are not fully in control of yourself and are vulnerable to making bad choices. 4. Know how to assess the maturity of others. Most individuals become attracted to each other on the basis of appearance, mutual needs or by the fact that they represent unconscious parental figures. As a result the level of emotional maturity (see my article on the Emotional Maturity Quotient in this ezine) of the other person is completely ignored. 5. Maintain personal honesty as one of your highest priorities. If you are honest with yourself and with others you will always maintain your personal integrity, self esteem, and self worth and in spite of what ever happens you will feel more resilient. This will also attract individuals who also uphold this as an important value. 6. Be courageous in all your communications. It is important that when something is to be said that it is said in a respectful and truthful manner. Holding things back can cause them to be pushed into the unconscious where they will "ferment" into feelings of anger, negative behaviors, and abuse and so on. 7. Always look after your health and well being. Without a solid foundation of good health any relationship will flounder. Your health is your responsibility and not anyone elses. 8. Don't act like a victim and don't attempt to rescue victim like behaviors. There is a tendency for immature needy individuals to take a victim role in order to manipulate others into rescuing or caring for them. This is irresponsible behavior which undermines some of the principles I mentioned above. When one engages or attempts to rescue victim like behaviors this fractures the trust in a relationship and irreversibly destroys it. 9. Always strive for greater emotional and sexual intimacy. To know and experience each other fully is the most effective way to keep the bonds of understanding, love and empathy strong. This is the glue that keeps a relationship intact. Without it, it will eventually fall apart. 10. Always strive for personal growth. A relationship will grow stagnant if either of the partners stops growing emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually. In the same way that you would nurture a child's growth one must continually nurture one's own. To receive telephone support with any of these steps kindly visit the web link below. Tanning Lotion is Common Sense in a Bottle

By Terry Price When it comes to avoiding burns, whether it is from a full day at the beach or a tanning bed session, a few commonsense precautions should be taken. If you have ever used a tanning bed before, you will know what an enjoyable experience it can be! Occasionally, you can end up with sore and burned skin, known as tanning bed burns. Regardless of the source of your burn, your skin will feel tender, and there is a chance of permanently damaging your skin as well. There are two common sources of burns from indoor tanning beds. It is from an overexposure to UV rays, or the tanning bed user has not applied enough protection against UV rays. The proper tanning bed lotion will give you this protection. Use only the best ones on the market, and you will find that for the most part burning will become nonexistent. A good lotion will actually stimulate production of melanin and when more melanin pigments are produced, it will allow you to enjoy your tanning bed experience longer. You will find also that most tanning lotions will have a built-in moisturizer that will help your skin keep its youthful and elastic look. Using a good tanning lotion will help you keep a vibrant healthy tan, without getting your skin too leathery. Use goggles in indoor tanning beds to protect your eyelids from burning. They are specially designed to give 100% protection against UV radiation. Common sense goes a long way and one of the first and simplest things you could do to protect yourself from overexposure to UV rays is to simply limit your time on the tanning bed. If you are a first-time user of a tanning bed, limit your first day to only a few minutes and gradually introduce yourself to the tanning process by increasing time increments progressively. Usually burns occur when people ignore safety warnings and precautions. But most of all, having an enjoyable tanning bed experience starts with just good old commonsense! Understanding Weeds - But mostly How to Kill 'em

By Linda J Bruton When I was a child, I loved to pick Dandelions. The pretty yellow flowers were small, colorful, and looked nice tucked behind my ear! However, if one had popped up in the front yard, my hair accessory would have been considered an atrocity! I often feel sorry for weeds. They are plants too. In fact, if you flipped through a botany field guide, you may be surprised at the plants you find classified as weeds! But simply put, a weed is really defined as a plant out of place. Clover in one persons flowing lawn may be considered fashionable, whereas on another, not. Golf greens are often covered with bentgrass, but if it crept up in some yards, it would be considered a weed. While perhaps pretty on their own, weeds stick out like a sore thumb in yards because they may be of a different color, size or texture. This is distracting from the beauty of the otherwise sprawling green turf. Aside from aesthetic values, weeds can also drain nutrients from grass and other plants, and this competition of resources can thin what should be lush. And what's worse is that weeds are fighters. They can withstand conditions that your wanted greens cannot, so they are almost inevitable! Treating weeds begins with correct identification. There are two classifications of weeds: Grassy and Broadleaf. These are further broken down into groups like perennial, biennial, and winter and summer annuals. These, as you may gave guessed, depict their growing patterns. Grassy weeds are, as they sound, like grass. However, they are unwanted grass, or grass that is growing in a different type of lawn. Some examples are annual bluegrass, barnyard grass, crabgrass, creeping bentgrass and foxtail. Broadleaf weeds may appear more to be what most people picture weed-like growth to be. Since they are broad, they are more easily distinguished. Some examples are yarrow, knotweed, chickweed, clover, ground ivy, thistle and my favorite, the dandelion. Once you understand what is growing in your lawn and decide that it is unwanted, you can treat it and/or control it. Weeds can actually be controlled by your lawn care maintenance. If you maintain a dense and vigorously growing lawn, you are already combating the problem. Weeds can be a sign of underlying problems in the environment beneath. So by just killing them, you are simply putting on a band-aid, not solving the problem. For example, some weeds grow in situations of compacted soil, such as knotweed. You can also control the growth by taking better care of the grass, rather than focus on the weeds. You can raise or lower the mowing height, change the frequency of mowing and changing the amount of time between irrigating. Also, you can increase or decrease application of fertilizer and aerify the soil. This will maintain better grass, thus keeping the growth dense and vigorous, which as discussed above, does not attract weeds. In addition to culture practices, sometimes the assistance of chemicals is needed to control weed growth. In that case, there are several types of herbicides that can be used. Preemergence herbicides will affect seeds that are germinating. Since they are best used two to three weeks before the seeds start to grow, these work best to combat annual weeds. Postmergence herbicides are used, as their prefix implies, after the weeds have sprouted. Since they must be absorbed through the leaves, this types of herbicide works best with a spray. These can be used at any time, but are most effective when the weed is still young and growing. Selective postmergence herbicides are usually used to control annual, biennial and perennial broadleaf weeds, as they will not damage grass. But, they can kill trees, shrubs and flowers. These have to be used in proper conditions as well, with no rain in the forecast for two days to follow, air 60-80 degrees and no winds. Finally, non-selective postmergence herbicides kill all types of weeds, and are best used to spot treat grassy weeds that are not affected by the selective herbicides. So next time you see a Dandelion plant growing, don't make a wish and blow the seeds toward in the direction of a lawn fanatic- they may not get the perfectly manicured lawn they wished for! A Cherished Gift For Each Bridesmaid

By Kathleen Terrana Many brides choose to give their bridesmaids a gift of the jewelry each wears to match their dresses. And others choose engravable gifts such as picture frames, compacts, trinket, jewelry and keepsake boxes, charm bracelets and key chains. These are all fine gifts and many times there is no charge for monogramming the items for each bridesmaid. An inexpensive and more personal gift that the bride can give is to take candid shots of each attendant and arrange them in a photo album or personalized scrapbook. With the availability of one-use cameras, the bride can tuck one of these into her purse, and take photos while shopping for gowns and shoes, at the bridal shower, rehearsal dinner and bachelorette party. She should include individual pictures, group shots, as well as pictures of herself with each bridesmaid. Photos that are candid and funny will work better than those that are posed. At Michaels, The Arts and Crafts Store, 12 x 12 stylized scrapbook pages range from .59 to .99 cents each. Or they can be purchased in 25 sheet packs of white or pastel cardstock for $5.99. Smaller sized packs come in 4 x 6 , 6 x 6, and 5 x 7 inches. Cut outs can be purchased such as doves, flowers, hearts, wedding cakes, bells, churches, white satin gloves, and champagne bottles and glasses. Banners and alphabet packs are also available to customize the scrapbook pages. The good thing about the bride working on this project, is that by working on a special gift for her dear friends, she will be helping to relieve stress from the frenzy of wedding planning. She will have fun assembling the photos and scrapbooking supplies, and give each friend a cherished keepsake of the wedding. What is Mass Communication?

By Maria Boomhower Many people are confused and miss their mark when it comes to mass communication. They believe that they are sending their message out to everyone. This is a recipe for disaster and a loss of valuable marketing dollars. Even with mass communication, you must select your target audience. Mass means many people, but it doesn't mean everyone.
If you think of the saying "if you try to please everyone, you'll end up pleasing no one", this applies quite well here. Every one has their own tastes, desires, goals and needs.
For example you wouldn't try to sell a 2-seater sports car to a family of four or five looking for a 6-seater with plenty of storage or baggage room. Or try to sell and jungle hiking adventure to seniors with a walker. No matter what your product or service is and whether you are trying to sell to many or just a few, it is important to know what your target market is. I know that some people cringe at this, yet the most successful people always due their homework first and understand who would buy what they are selling. Now you may state that the above examples are obvious and yes, but I was trying to make a clear point of why you should know whom to sell. However not all products and services are that clear. Their have been many examples of people who have thought they knew who they where selling to and didn't make a dime. Then when they received help and redirected to another market, they became very successful. Yes, it takes time and effort. The more important question is, "just how successful do you want to be?" Most people would agree that they didn't start up a business just to fail, yet without getting your foundation set, that is what many people each month are doing, failing. So, figure out your target market and then, find out how they gain or get the information that they need.
Is it through direct marketing, television, newspapers, trade journals, magazines? Once again, it doesn't do you any good even if you know your target market, if they never receive the information. Some professionals never read flyers and direct mail, but always read their trade journal. The 3rd piece of the puzzle is that most people need to see your ad at least 3 times before it registers or that they are willing to buy. You can't just advertise once and go well that didn't work. You need to commit to seeing it through. So planning your budget for the duration is also important. Mass communication can be very rewarding and give you brand and name recognition and increase your credibility. It just takes commitment, research and time to do it right. P.S. If you like what you're reading in this ezine, you'll love the book,

Understanding Why Abortion May Not Be The Best Choice

By Everest Alexander Satan tried to rule the earth without a physical body and Jesus called him a robber and a thief! John 10:1 But in referring to Himself, Jesus said, "... He that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep," John 10:2 Ever wonder what that door was? In the natural sense a door is the legal means of entry into a restricted area. The earth is a restricted area; it was created by God and is still owned by Him. It's His private property! So if one wants to come from the spirit realm and enter in and operate legally in the earth realm, he needs to have legal access! He needs to go through the door! The door to the earth (legal access) is being born of a woman and possessing a physical body! Anyone who tries to operate on earth without a physical body is trespassing and guilty of sinning against God! Jesus said, "...Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me," Heb 10:5 Jesus accessed the earth and the people of the earth (the sheepfold and the sheep) legally, by being born of a woman... Satan did not! Jesus is the authorized shepherd of the sheep... Satan is not!!! The fundamental reason why Jesus' name has authority in the earth is because... he came in the flesh! If He had stayed in heaven, none of the authority we have in His name would be possible! In the bible, God was only able to promise change until He got Himself a body! Promises like, "Behold, a virgin shall conceive...!" "For unto you a child is born...!" "The seed of the woman shall...!" From Genesis to Malachi God was promising change, but the only time we actually saw change is when He finally got a physical body and came to earth! Why do you think every time God was about to perform some major move in the earth, Satan was always trying to kill the babies? He tried to kill both Moses and Jesus, the mediators of the old and new covenants, respectively, through legalized infanticide! It's because God can only change things in the earth through someone who has a physical body! That's why man's primary command from God in the beginning was to be fruitful and multiply! The more people born, the more vessels He could work through to demonstrate His authority and bring to pass His purpose! This is why barrenness is described as a curse and fruitfulness is a blessing in the bible! A woman was designed to bring forth children who would become instruments of change in the earth; if she's barren then she's no longer a channel through which God can bring instruments of change! No child can be born of her... no instrument of change can come to earth! In our present age there are so many homeless, parentless children that I believe God may allow some couples not to produce their own children just so they can rescue some child or children who have no parents of their own. So, if you're a godly person reading this and you're not able to produce children maybe, just maybe, God is speaking to you about adoption. Why not rescue a child who needs you and the endless love you have to give? Understanding the authority of the physical body in the earth directly affects our understanding of the issue of abortion and shows why it's wrong! God's modus operandi for blessing and enhancing life on earth is to equip and inspire human beings to excellence in their respective fields of endeavor. Abortion therefore, limits God's capacity to bless the inhabitants of earth! God needs someone with a physical body who is born of a woman to be the instrument that He works through to effect positive change in our lives! "I looked for someone to defend the city and to protect it from my anger, as well as to stop me from destroying it. But I found no one. So in my fierce anger, I will punish the Israelites for what they have done, and they will know that I am furious. I, the Lord, have spoken," Eze 22:30-31 (CEV). With millions of unborn children slaughtered daily, we are short-circuiting the very blessings God has planned for us as a race. How many inspired world-leaders, great inventors, gifted artists and talented scientists are being ripped out of their mother's wombs and murdered on a table in the name of convenience? And still, we have the audacity to ask God, why is this world in such a mess? I'll tell you why! Because, by a process of institutionalized infanticide, we are eliminating the very people God has been sending to earth to bless us and enhance the quality of our lives! Mass abortion retards the development of our global society and short-circuits our collective potential!!! All of us are catalysts for each other's genius. A child may be born with a fatal disease and live in excruciating pain only to die a few hours later. The casual observer may be tempted to say that child's life was meaningless and unfair to have to suffer so. They may even go on to say that God was cruel for allowing it. But suppose one of the nurses who witnessed that event became so affected by what she experienced that she made a decision there and then to devote her entire life to finding a cure for that particular disease. Suppose she went on to excel in researching that field and 10 years later actually found a cure for that disease. Suppose that disease was AIDS?! Was that child's life in vain? Was God cruel to allow the child to be born and suffer for a few hours? Part of your purpose is to bring out the best in someone else! Someone you may never know or meet! The philosophical works of Plato and Aristotle were built upon the foundational principles laid by Socrates. In the 1960's, Dr. Martin Luther King's non-violent revolution, which changed the face of America forever, was greatly influenced by the Indian revolution led by Mahatma Ghandi in the 1940's. In the 17th century Galileo's understanding of the universe, based on his extensive research in Physics and Astronomy, was seeded by Copernicus' work published 100 earlier in De Revolutionibus. And even this great publication was influenced by the propositions and discussions of Archimedes and Aristarchus in the third century BC. Today, our brightest scientific minds in contemporary medicine still reference Louis Pasteur's phenomenal discovery, "the germ theory of disease" made almost two centuries ago. Now imagine living in a world without all these men and the discoveries they made! What if all these children had been victims of abortion??? EACH OF THESE MEN HAD A MOTHER WHO HAD A CHOICE! Every one of these men was once a mass of cells in some woman's uterus! What if she were "Pro Choice" and decided to exercise "her choice to abort"??? What if Susanna Fontanarossa had decided that she was too young or too poor to have a child and had an abortion? Then, Christopher Columbus would not have re-discovered the most powerful nation on earth! What kind of world would we be living in today without America as we know it? Whom are you carrying in your womb??? YOU HAVE NO IDEA! Suppose sixty years ago a rape or incest victim had aborted the child from that incident? Suppose that child would have grown up to become a gifted Scientist in the area of Disease Research? Suppose that child was the Scientist God sent to earth to discover a cure FOR CANCER??? It is NOT my intention to be insensitive to any one who may have been a victim of any crime or unfortunate incident but the truth is that some of the greatest achievements have come out of some of the most horrendous experiences in life. It's all about how you choose to respond to the situation that counts. YOU HAVE BEEN CHOSEN TO BARE A SPECIAL GIFT TO HUMANITY. TO SNUFF OUT THAT LIFE IS A CRIME AGAINST THE HUMAN RACE AND A SIN AGAINST GOD! The psychological scars stay with you for a very long time and the memories... Forever! It's something you can NEVER undo! YOU DON'T KNOW WHO'S IN YOUR WOMB. Please consider life! Joint Tenancy: How Not to Avoid Probate!

By Phil Craig One of my favorite stories is about the woman who came in for
a consultation about an estate plan. She told me she didn't think she needed a living trust because
when her husband had died, all of their assets had been held in
joint tenancy and all she had to do was record a few affidavits
along with his death certificate, and "poof" the was now the
owner, with no probate. She thought this was so great, she had gone ahead and added her
daughter to all of her real estate as a joint tenant. She
actually prepared and recorded the deeds (she was a retired real
estate broker). I looked them over and sure enough, the daughter
was now on title with the mother as a joint tenant. But now came the real reason she had come to see me. He daughter
had gotten involved with a new man who was one of those protestors
who believe the Internal Revenue Code (and the Internal Revenue
Service) is unconstitutional. In protest, they had decided to stop
paying income taxes or filing income tax returns. Mom was now worried about the deeds she had recorded and
wanted to have her daughter's name removed. Could I help? Well, the first suggestion was to have the daughter sign and record
deeds giving back the joint tenancy interest the mother had given.
Mom had thought of that, but when asked, the daughter told her
mother that she was worrying too much and had nothing to worry
about. She refused to sign the deeds giving back the title. The point? Joint tenancy sure is easy to create, but sure is hard
to end. Once you put your child (or anyone) on title, that piece of property
is considered to be part owned by them and is subject to the
claims of their creditors. Even if the daughter wasn't a tax protestor, if she was in a car
accident and was at fault, the creditor could make a claim against
her interest in the property. Joint Tenancy can "Kill" your Will. Then there is the story about the man who had remarried after his
first wife died. He wanted to leave part of his estate to his
children (from his first marriage) and part to his new wife. He and the new wife loved each other so much they decided to put
all their assets in "joint tenancy" (she didn't have much of
anything, so it was his assets that were changed). Lo and behold, he died unexpectedly from a heart attack and his
children now wanted to receive what they felt they had coming from
his estate. However, those of you who've been through my multi-media course
know that joint tenancy is a very unique form of holding title to
assets or property. The moment one of the joint tenants dies,
his or her interest in the asset ends and the remaining surviving
joint tenant is now the sole owner. So, regardless of what the man's will said, the joint tenancy
holding "killed the will" since the moment the husband died, his
interest in all of his assets died with him. That left nothing in his estate to leave to his children. Sad, but true. I recommended a malpractice action against the lawyer who set
it all up, but it turns out they had done it themselves, using forms. Good luck and until next time, Phil Craig P.S. I Want To Lose Weight, BUT...

By Dean Carlson I had a great conversation this morning. It was with a lady I have known for a couple years, and ever since I have known her see has been trying to lose weight. It has been fun to share my own fat loss experience with her, and try to give her a tip here or there to help her out. I met her after I had lost all my weight, so it was fun to see the look of disbelief on her face when I told tell her that I had lost over 70 pounds. I like to think it is encouraging to tell others that if I could do they can too, but it doesnt always work that way. You see, often the first word I hear out of the persons mouth is But I am convinced that is a four letter word in disguise, because that little word often stops people from taking the action that results in the change they desire. It is usually something along the lines of Well you did it, BUT I dont have time to exercise, BUT I dont have time to eat breakfast, BUT it is too expensive to eat healthy, BUT the moon is in its second lunar tri-phase, or some other perfectly good reason that isnt a reason at all. BUT thats ok, because most likely that person does not have a big enough reason to change. Until I reached the point where the pain of being an overweight, pre-diabetic with high blood pressure was worse than the pain of doing something about it, I didnt change either. My mission is to show people the benefits of a healthy lifestyle before their health spirals downward. Some people listen, some dont. Im not going to stop trying. Ok, so back to my conversation. The reason I said it was great is because I think she is finally turning the corner. Her attitude is changing, and that was revealed to me by a simple statement. She said I am focused on all the good things I can eat, rather than what I cant. You see in the past, she was always talking about the cake she shouldnt eat, or the donut she didnt have, or that it was no fun to go to parties anymore. BUT now she is focusing on the positive, on the whole new world of eating healthy and all the possibilities that come with it. She has found that the benefits of changing outweigh the pain of that same change. Is this really the key to weight loss? Is the battle we wage in our mind even more important than the food we put in our mouth? I am convinced that you can lose weight a number of different ways, some better and healthier than others. I believe there are principles that should be followed; and if you have tried to lose weight in the past, you can probably recite many of them yourself Eat breakfast, drink lots of water, eat 5-6 meals a day, exercise regularly, and many more. BUT I am further convinced, primarily because of my own experience, that all of these principles, while important, are secondary. Skeptical? Heres what I want you to do. Before you put another bite of salad with low-cal dressing, or broiled fish, or sugar free jello into your mouth, take out a piece of paper and write down 10 good reasons and/or benefits of losing weight, or getting healthier, or whatever else your goal may be. After you are done, I want you to post the piece of paper where you can read it every day. Get back to me in 60 days and tell me how you're doing. "BUT Dean..." About Dean: Fed up with the way he looked and felt, Dean Carlson decided enough was enough. After wading through the conflicting diet and fitness information, and through much trial and error, he found himself 80 pounds lighter and with a new outlook on life. His desire to help other people get healthy and fit without going it alone led him to start Cr8 Health & Fitness, where he shares his knowledge and passion for fitness with others looking to get off the diet roller coaster. Promotional Lanyards to Market Your Products and Services

By John Thomson It has become fairly common place to see Id badges dangling from a persons neck on a short cord, and on the cord or small rope itself, is printed the name of a company, or a school or an event on it. When you spot one of these, you can be sure you're looking at a lanyard. Why is that? Well - a promotional lanyard belongs to that bag of tricks a marketing person uses to promote their business. Technically known as promotional marketing products, they can be rather serious gadgets or as silly as one can think of. It's common to find watches, hats and t-shirts, key chains, note pads, etc, etc, and now the promotional lanyard, recruited to deliver a message to the customer. A lanyard that has been custom printed to ensure your company's logo and message are visible to current or potential customers. They'll give your company an marketing edge, because they are free, they generate lots of good will while adding awareness about your product or company, all for minimal costs. Just walk around any trade exhibit and you'll soon find yourself gravitating towards the booths that offer free promotional items. You'd better hurry too, as they are often crowded and you could miss out on these items. Why then has the promotional lanyard emerged as one of the marketing world's most popular promotional gadgets? Here are four good reasons why you should consider using promotional lanyards: Cheap - even if you need to consider the material the lanyard will be made of, you can buy 500 pcs. Lanyard, with your company's name or event printed on it, for as little as $110.00. It can also be as fancy as you'd like it to be. Useful - who doesn't need an Id holder? And if your client base uses lanyards, you've got a foot in the door. Eye-catching - you can't help but notice a lanyard dangling from someone's neck. Versatile - these are some of the features a promotional lanyard can have: * retractable badge holders attached
* reflective lanyards for safety
* multicolored
* many materials
* height adjustable balls locks
* many different attachments available
* individual names printed on the promotional lanyard itself What are some of the events or activities where you can use promotional lanyards? At trade shows-, your promotional lanyard will have a visible message, and be an identification holder. Also, while show organizers use imprinted lanyard badge holders to promote their show, the sponsors can have theirs with slogans that motivate customers to stop by their booth. The organizers can use the lanyards as identification to enter the show floor. When you launch a new product, and usually these pharmaceutical companies use imprinted lanyards with a new drug promotion and give these away free. Use lanyards in corporate events and activities, such as seminars, conferences and conventions. The organizers can imprint the slogan for the event or activity, so that the entire members group knows what the activity is. For security identification, these can be for all or any of the following: visitors' i.d.s, employee i.d.s and student i.d.s. Or your company can use lanyards to for id badges for security entrance and employee identification. So even while the lanyard is securing your company it is also promoting it. Use lanyards in hospitals, where hospital employees can wear imprinted lanyards with badges to allow access to certain floors. For school activities and events - have teachers and students wear imprinted lanyards for entry into schools. Each grade level can adopt a slogan for the year, and it's a way of identifying them. Slogans such as "play it safe" or "Fun in learning all year round". For community activities and events - such as a church youth rallies or charitable events where volunteers can feel that they are part of the community effort. Promotional lanyards are also cheap enough that you can send them in direct mail promotions. Some markets would be receptive to this offer. One popular website estimates that: "Promotional-marketing products can help drive sales. In 1999 alone, businesses spent $13 billion on them; that's up from $5 billion in 1990." So think about promotional lanyards next time you plan an event! John Thomson is webmaster at badge holders and lanyards where lanyard and ID holder information is a click away.
